School and Library Visits

I was a teacher in grades 3-8 for 20 years and I’m happy to customize my presentations/workshops if requested.

Library Presentations:

I love libraries! I do not charge for presentations at public libraries anywhere in New England. My 60-minute presentation includes a reading, a discussion of researching life in Vermont in the 1920’s, the art of taxidermy and how it crept into my debut novel, my path to publication and a question and answer period.

School Presentations:

I am available for 30-minute Skype visits with classrooms of students at no cost.

I love visiting schools and classrooms.  Please contact me for rates. A one-day visit includes a large group talk and three classroom presentations or four classroom presentations. School visits are much more productive if students have read my book in advance.

Book talk, grade 3-6, school-wide or smaller group:

My presentation includes a reading followed by a talk about the writing process, the path to publication, researching Vermont in the 20’s, the art of taxidermy, ending with a question and answer period. (45 minutes to an hour)

Small Group writing workshop grade 3-6:

I will talk about character development, point of view, pacing and story structure followed by writing exercises and sharing. She will gear her workshops to the grade level of individual classrooms.  (45 minutes)
